Construction Engineer
- Plan and develop small to medium construction projects from concept through execution, leveraging prior construction experience to define scope, sequencing, schedules, and budgets.
- Support conceptual planning and assist in presenting project approaches, logistics plans, and execution strategies to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to identify constructability issues, risks, and field constraints early in the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to align project plans with operational requirements and client expectations.
- Lead on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout or hand-off to operations, serving as the primary field representative for the company.
- Maintain a regular and active presence in the field to monitor work progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure proper sequencing and efficient execution of work.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges in real time, applying practical field experience to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
- Enforce safety policies, quality control standards, and compliance with contract documents, drawings, and applicable codes.

- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, turnover documentation, and transition to operations.
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers to meet project-specific construction requirements.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with trade partners to ensure timely delivery, quality workmanship, and responsiveness.
- Provide field-driven feedback on subcontractor performance, constructability, and lessons learned to improve future project execution.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience accepted.
- Experience: Commercial construction or rapid-response deployment experience preferred, with demonstrated success planning and executing small to medium construction projects and significant time spent in the field.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) and OSHA 30 certifications are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, team building, problem-solving, adaptability, and time management skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and field coordination, including management of subcontractors, suppliers, RFIs, submittals, and change conditions.
- Professional Requirements: Ability to maintain confidentiality and work primarily in active construction environments, with travel as required.
