Mobile Diesel Mechanic
Location: One of our 4 locations in the DFW Metroplex
Type: Full-Time
Travel Required: Yes (Service truck provided)
Position Overview:
Southwest International Trucks is hiring experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanics to perform on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for diesel vehicles. This role involves traveling to customer locations to provide scheduled services, emergency breakdown response, and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and stock service truck (tools provided by candidate)
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on engines, brakes, cooling systems, and drive trains along with routine and preventative maintenance
- Repair or adjust CAT, Cummins, Allison, International engines, Eaton, Meritor, and Spicer systems
- Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the components parts and systems.
- Use welding skills when applicable
- Deliver high-quality customer service and complete jobs within time limits
- Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of diesel truck repair experience
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in varied weather conditions
- Strong diagnostic and computer skills
- Must be able to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts.
- Own tool inventory required
- Experience interacting directly with customers with high levels of customer service and communication skills
- Flexible working on all Makes, Models, and types of repairs
