Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Lamar University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology, beginning Fall of 2026. The area of specialization is open; however, candidates with a sufficient background in Biological Psychology or Neuroscience to teach a Behavioral Neuroscience course at the undergraduate and graduate levels are preferred.

Successful candidates will:

Teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level (e.g., General Psychology, Introduction to Statistics, Research Methods, Biological Basis of Behavior) and master's level (e.g., Behavioral Neuroscience, Multivariate Data Analysis) Maintain an active program of research that attempts to include undergraduate and graduate students Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research Serve on graduate student thesis committees Actively engage in service to the department, college, and university
