Shipping Clerk
JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping Clerk assists the Logistics Management and Scheduler with daily shipping activities such as separating orders, folding packing slips, preparing boxes for shipping and packing orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Completing the daily inbound and outbound report.
- Scanning documentation and paperwork.
- Creating BOLs for customers.
- Filing documentation and paperwork (filing system).
- Weighing in and weighing out all incoming and outgoing trucks-using the truck scale and the scale printer. Print out weight tickets and attach to drivers copy of the packing slips or BOL.
- Keeping record of incoming loads-according to the schedule.
- Creating Bale labels for the unloaders.
- When asked, help in completion with the BOL Master Report.
- General document management accurately complete shipping documents including, but not limited to, bill of lading, shippers letter of instruction, inventory, receipts, and all other pertinent documentation.
- Accurately completes shipping documents, to include, but not limited to, bill of lading and shippers letter of instruction.
- Maintains good housekeeping in logistics department.
- Other duties as required by management.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must be a good problem solver, a good listener, analytical and hands on.
- Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
- 2+ years of forklift driving experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Full-time, with flexibility to address operational needs during non-standards hours.
