Seasonal Summer Camp Director

Skylark
Mckinney, TX
Camp Skylark is looking for a seasonal camp director to lead local day camps for elementary school aged children. This position is from March-August.

The Mission of Lionheart/Skylark is to see the lives of children and families transformed by the Gospel through Christ-centered Childcare and summer camps, in partnership with the local church.

This summer's camp locations are:

  • Cottonwood Creek Church: 1015 Sam Rayburn Tollway, Allen, TX 75013
  • The Heights Church: 201 W. Renner Road, Richardson, TX 75080
  • Church at the Creek: 8001 County Road 125, McKinney, TX 75071

The Camp Director transforms the lives of children and families by leading and managing camp at the assigned location, hiring and discipling summer staff, and engaging with the local church and community.

The Camp Director serves as a ministerial role during the camp season, helping to accomplish the mission and vision of Skylark through evangelism, discipleship, and shepherding. While this role carries leadership responsibilities, it is seasonal in nature—focused on the unique ministry opportunities that arise during the summer months of camp.

  • The Purpose of Skylark is to grow the family of God in depth, number, and intimacy.
  • The Vision of Skylark is that every child would have a hero. That families are rooted in church community. That our staff grows in the likeness of Christ.
  • The Mission of Skylark is to make disciples of Jesus by partnering with local churches and operating excellent, gospel-integrated camps.

The most important outcomes of this position are the spiritual outcomes supporting the purpose, vision, and mission. The Camp Director is a ministerial role and is tasked with shepherding like Christ (1 Peter 5:1-4). This includes praying for the team, ministering to them from Scripture, and equipping them for kingdom impact through training in evangelism, writing or developing gospel-integrated environments, church invitations, and basic discipleship. The ministry to others should flow from the individual’s growing intimacy with Christ.
