Senior Backend Engineer (PHP TypeScript Migration)

Own the sunset of a large PHP codebase and help build its TypeScript replacement. We’re a profitable, fast-growing SaaS ( 4.8★ customers , 4.9★ team ) transforming how people interact with the web.

What you’ll do

• Draw the boundaries: Identify seams, design contracts (APIs/queues/adapters), and strangler-fig subsystems out of PHP

• Keep it stable: Maintain a complex and beloved PHP 7.4 system in production

• Build the replacement: Pair with our TypeScript team to implement new services, migrate data/flows, and retire PHP components

You’ll thrive if you

• Have 5+ years backend experience with 3+ in PHP on large systems

• Have shipped a migration or can show equivalent systems thinking

• Are an exceptional debugger who can isolate root causes in unfamiliar code, use logs/profilers well, and land fixes with minimal guidance

• Want to spend increasing time in TypeScript as PHP disappears
