JOB DETAILS
Base Starting Wage $29.50-$34.50 plus $1 per hour shift differential
2nd Shift: (3:00 PM - 1:00 AM) M-F.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is an essential part of Cornerstone Building Brands’s manufacturing team. A maintenance technician, or Maintenance Mechanic, is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic, inspected buildings to confirm safety standards and report major breakdowns repairs on machinery. This position performs various maintenance tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment
- Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently
- Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts
- Install replacement parts for machines
- Assist in electrical projects and perform minor electrical repairs
- Assist in pipe fitting tasks and perform some installation unassisted
- Maintain and service building equipment including HVAC, lighting and water
- Maintain documentation as required in the CMMS
- Maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
- Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines
- Maintain technical knowledge through training
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship for employment or work visa status now or in the future
- Must have at least five (5) years of work experience as a mechanic in an industrial manufacturing and/or distribution environment
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from a kneeling or sitting position
- Have an industrial, electrical, and/or welding certification or license
- Have at least five (5) year of maintenance experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts
- Have at least five (5) years of work experience with machinery controls and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
- Familiar with and utilize a computer tablet to document work performed on equipment in the CMMS
