Safety and Environment Specialist
- Provide onboarding safety training courses to all new hires, including:
- Compressed gas cylinder.
- Hazard communication.
- Lock out / tag out.
- Emergency evacuation.
- C-TPAT.
- Schedule and evaluate all employees in the use of all loading trucks, including yearly refresher training classes, including:
- Clamps.
- Forklift.
- Standup.
- Scissor lift.
- Cherry picker.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of work instructions for each job and assist with employee training and compliance.
- Review and maintain the existing safety training matrix.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections.
- Investigate VMS reports.
- Create and maintain employee training records.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Record near misses, incidents, and hazards data in Velocity and follow up on open items.
- Conduct ergonomic studies to ensure the well-being and safety of employees.
- Train employees to do their job properly to avoid injuries.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing employee safety and health programs. Ensure the company complies with and adheres to mandated safety and health guidelines to prevent work-related injuries.
- Familiarize and have access to the CCTV system for security and safety matters.
- Manage the preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of forklift trucks.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

- Minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in leading safety activities and training.
- Minimum of 1 years power lift truck experience.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines. Minimum of 3 years of experience leading compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- An associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Bilingual preferred (English, Spanish)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
