IT Project Manager

Duration: 1+ Year Contract

Overview:

Client is initiating a strategic project to modernize its legacy AS400-based Tax Management System. We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead this transformation from project initiation through go-live, ensuring successful selection and implementation of a modern solution.

Top Skills Required:

• 5–10+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, preferably in government or public sector environments.
• Proven experience managing tax system modernization or similar large-scale enterprise system replacement projects.
• Strong understanding of RFP processes , vendor management, and enterprise software implementation.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• AS400 experience
• RFP development experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full project lifecycle within PMO, from initiation through planning, execution, and closure.
• Collaborate with Tax SMEs, stakeholders, and technical teams to define scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Drive the RFP process, including vendor evaluation and selection.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Facilitate status meetings, risk assessments, and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with policies and stakeholder expectations.
• Oversee implementation of the new Tax Management solution, including configuration, testing, training, and deployment.
• Report progress to executive sponsors and leadership.

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
