Overview
System One is in search of a Site Continuous Improvement Manager for a privately held company to join their team in Longview, TX. This position leads and supports continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational and operational excellence objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational and operational excellence objectives.
- Partner with plant and operations leaders to identify performance gaps and develop improvement plans.
- Facilitate improvement activities, including process reviews, improvement workshops, and hands-on improvement events focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Coach leaders and frontline employees on continuous improvement principles, standard work, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Support the development and maintenance of standardized processes, documentation, and work practices.
- Analyze operational performance data and metrics to track progress and communicate results.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, productivity improvement, and process stability while ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Support change management efforts by promoting continuous improvement behaviors, employee engagement, and accountability.
- Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations environments, including supporting or leading continuous improvement initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and operational excellence principles.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams through collaboration and coaching.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data.
- Understanding of operational performance metrics and process improvement methodologies.
- Effective project management skills focusing on execution and sustainability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to support change initiatives and build credibility with leaders and frontline teams.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical improvement solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Frequent interaction with leaders, supervisors, and production employees.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during manufacturing floor visits.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as required.
- Ability to travel periodically to support operational improvement activities.
