ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Accountants must be able to perform the following duties and manage the following area of responsibilities:

· Full-cycle accounting for assigned properties on both Cash and Accrual basis accounting

· Reconcile bank accounts for assigned properties

· Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of account balances

· Prepare Financial Statements (Income, Balance, and Cash Flow statements)

· Budget comparison analysis

· Prepare and record cash transactions

· Review and approve payables

· Process partners/investors distributions

· Prepare monthly/quarterly reports including sales tax returns, property tax payments

· Assist in annual budget preparations

· Commercial Property Accounting: AR Aging reviews, posting receivables, processing tenant billing, and maintaining tenant ledgers and security deposits for new/vacated tenants

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

· Training and review over the Accounts Payable Role

· Maintain Corporate financials & bank recs

· Process internal/external payroll transactions

· Maintain Call Center AR/Due To reconciliations on Corporate books

· Process Call Center Income

· Process Protection Plan Income & Billing for PSG and third party users

· Process interest billing & receivables on outstanding corporate loans (Dajon & Platinum)

· Process billing for Lake Forest entity reimbursements

· Review and process Corporate Credit Card transactions, importing data into Yardi and managing receivables for reimbursements to Platinum

· Process bank fee payments & receivables for Wells Fargo portfolio

· Process R&M Timesheet payables & receivables for reimbursements to Platinum

· Manage cash movement across entities

· Process Management Fees for Platinum portfolio

· Maintain Management Fee pools for onboarding/offboarding of entities

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Property Accountants have a strong background in an Accountant functional role and with proficient knowledge in GAAP related to real estate accounting. Property Accountants also have a proven successful track record in an Accountant role handling the day-to-day Accounting functions and responsibilities in addition to the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent from an accredited college or university required
• Relevant years of work experience and advanced Accounting certification may substitute for the degree requirement
• Knowledge of GAAP accrual accounting
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience, in multi-site accounting, real estate preferred
• Previous experience using Yardi is beneficial
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Outlook and Word,
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Possess excellent prioritizing and organization abilities in order to adhere to financial close deadlines
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally

Salary Description

$26-$30/hour
