Job Description
As the Part Time Early Childhood Math Visual Arts Teacher at All Saints' Episcopal School, you will inspire young learners to explore their creativity and develop a love for the visual arts. Your passion for artistic expression, dedication to fostering imagination, and commitment to nurturing the artistic talents of early childhood students will help them embark on a lifelong journey of artistic discovery.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging integrated lessons that blend foundational math concepts with visual arts exploration.
Teach fundamental art techniques alongside early numeracy skills, such as geometry, patterns, and measurement.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages both creative risk-taking and logical problem-solving.
Design an age-appropriate STEAM-based curriculum aligned with educational standards and school goals.
Create interactive lesson plans and resources that adapt to students' developmental stages in both numeracy and artistry.
Foster an appreciation for how math exists within diverse art forms, nature, and architecture.
Encourage students to express mathematical thinking through hands-on artistic projects and activities.
Provide opportunities for students to explore and develop their unique, creative, and analytical voices.
Showcase student work within the classroom and divisional hallways.
Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help students enhance their technical and cognitive abilities.
Maintain a well-organized and inspiring classroom environment conducive to both studio art and mathematical inquiry.
Reinforce classroom rules that promote respect for teachers, peers, and materials.
Manage a diverse range of resources, including art supplies and mathematical manipulatives, effectively.
Attend divisional meetings, professional development and school required In-Service.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
Significant prior experience teaching and leading young children in an early childhood setting.
Demonstrated success in providing effective leadership in an early childhood classroom.
Strong classroom management skills with a nurturing and caring approach.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Adaptability to meet the diverse needs of young students and manage classroom teaching team.
