SUMMARY
Performs job duties to maintain and enhance agency-wide information technology systems that will create an effective and efficient work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the implementation, installation, maintenance and operation of information technology and other functional systems for the organization.
Supports network administration and maintenance.
Implements and monitors information technology systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance under the direction of the CIO.
Provides support to end users in the usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
Able to respond to after hour and weekend help desk calls.
OTHER DUTIES
Perform other related duties as required or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or Associates degree in computer science or related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training/certifications; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, outside vendors and consultants.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Driver’s license in good standing. Use of personal vehicle required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Travel required throughout south central and eastern Connecticut to satellite locations. May be required to work evening and weekend hours for special projects and/or installation/maintenance of management information systems.
