Who We’re Looking For Toyota's Enterprise Data team within OneTech is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Data Solution Architect / Tech Lead. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the design and implementation of comprehensive data architectures that support manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality control, and product innovation. You will architect scalable, secure, and integrated data solutions that enable real-time insights and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise, driving operational efficiency and competitive advantage in the manufacturing sector. Reporting to the GM – Data Engineering, the person in this role will support the Data team's objectives. What You’ll Be Doing- Architect end-to-end enterprise data solutions including but not limited to data ingestion from IoT devices, production systems, and supply chain platforms
- Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, quality, supply chain and IT teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable data architectures
- Design data models and integration frameworks that support data analytics, process optimization, and compliance reporting
- Lead the implementation of data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming platforms to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Evaluate and recommend data technologies and tools to enhance data capture, processing, and analytics capabilities
- Partner with Data Stewards to establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards aligned with industry regulations
- Drive data architecture best practices to support data initiatives, including AI/ML integration, edge computing and real-time monitoring
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop proof-of-concept projects to validate new data technologies and use cases
- Document architecture designs, data flows, and integration patterns
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in data technologies and analytics to continuously improve enterprise data capabilities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in data architecture or data solution design
- Expertise in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies
- Strong skills in data modeling, ETL/ELT, data integration, and real-time data processing
- Experience with data ingestion, time-series databases, and streaming analytics
- Programming experience in Python, Scala, or Java
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with NoSQL and graph databases
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or similar Data Platforms
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of compliance standards and data security best practices
- Certifications in cloud platforms or data architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer)
- Experience with manufacturing systems and data sources typical in manufacturing environments
- Experience in data architecture or data solution design in manufacturing or industrial sectors with IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things)
