We’re looking for senior tradespeople with experience working on Railroad construction jobs. This is a travel job with projects across the Eastern US. Crews work a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule.

Your role will encompass a blend of outdoor physical labor, equipment operation, and technical expertise, contributing to the enhancement and protection of rail infrastructure. The position offers continuous learning opportunities and the chance to refine your skills in shotcrete operation and mix design, ensuring precise execution with minimal waste.

Responsibilities

1. Working with a Superintendent and teammates, apply your skills effectively to get work done efficiently, safely and correctly.
2. Work in your specialty area but be willing and able to contribute any work that helps drive project success.
3. Travel across the US to do work. We travel on 3-week on, 1-week off or 5-day on, 2-day off schedules depending on the location of the crew member and the work.
4. Learn and apply new skills so you can do more: machines, soils technology, specialty techniques, leadership and problem-solving principles.

Qualifications

1. Ability to obtain client required certification.
2. Knowledge of and adherence to strict safety and environmental regulations.
3. Proficiency in all essential functions of a Railroad Stabilization Technician.
4. 3+ years of shotcrete or civil construction concrete experience
5. Expertise in shotcrete pump operation, with the ability to apply shotcrete accurately and efficiently.
6. Precision in shotcrete application to minimize waste and ensure project quality.
7. Comprehensive understanding of mix design principles for optimal material performance(wet and dry applications).
8. Ability to troubleshoot grout pump and shotcrete pump issues effectively.
9. Running and securing hoses for maximum safety and output.
10. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
11. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
12. Proficiency in time management and prioritization.
13. Capacity to thrive in a dynamic and occasionally challenging work environment.
14. Equipment cleanup and maintenance.
15. Experience with casing, rock drilling or similar.
16. At least one year of traveling construction labor experience.
17. At least one year of working outside in all conditions.
18. Ability to understand and meet daily production targets.
19. A history of problem solving; the ability to grasp a problem, see a solution, and do whatever it takes to get the problem solved.
20. A history of complying with construction crew safety principles and tools.
21. Ability to be on time, all the time, every time.

Work Environment

1. Climates vary in degrees, in tropical to desert environments.
2. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is often required.
3. Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
4. Regular heavy lifting (75lbs+) of construction materials on the job site.

Compensation

1. This is a GMT3 job posting. The wage for that role is $24 - $26/hour
2. Hourly rate based on your experience. In general, our pay scale increases for:
3. More years of experience and technical expertise with the tools and technologies in drilling.
4. Ability to drive (CMV or CDL)
5. Experience or certifications for heavy equipment operations (skid steer, forklift, Bobcat, Scissor lift, or CDL vehicles.)
6. Experience with shotcrete or grouting pumps on the job.
7. Experience directing teams, managing customer interactions, or managing projects.
8. All positions earn overtime
9. 100% paid travel
