Job Title: Sanitation Technician

Pay Range: $14 - $16 per hour

Position Summary:

The Sanitation Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of greenhouse harvesting and packing equipment, tools, and facilities. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate will be a dependable team player, flexible in performing diverse tasks, and committed to upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. Prior experience in sanitation or janitorial work is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize appropriate cleaning and sanitizing tools and methods to maintain sanitary conditions in harvesting and packing areas, ensuring no equipment damage, operational downtime, or safety incidents, in strict accordance with established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  
  
• Adhere to company biosecurity plans, food safety regulations, and quality assurance standards, including GMP, HACCP, FSI, SQF, and other relevant protocols.
  
  
• Prevent cross-contamination of products, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces, and packaging materials during sanitation processes.
  
  
• Complete all tasks as outlined in the master sanitation schedule promptly and accurately.
  
  
• Maintain accurate sanitation and SQF documentation as required.
  
  
• Safely operate and maintain cleaning tools and equipment, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or facility issues requiring special attention.
  
  
• Perform additional housekeeping and janitorial duties such as trash and waste removal, cleaning of head-house and greenhouse areas, as assigned.
  
  
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  
  
• Actively engage in team meetings, training sessions, and educational programs. Support training of new employees and provide coverage as needed.
  
  
• Ensure all harvesting and packing equipment, as well as tools, are cleaned and sanitized according to company guidelines, utilizing pressure washers and sanitizing agents effectively.
  
  
• Must follow all sanitation procedures, PPE requirements, and food safety regulations to ensure a clean and compliant production environment.
• Complete special projects and other assignments as requested by management.
