Landscape Technician

Responsibilities:
• Performs a variety of tasks involving manual labor in landscape maintenance, irrigation, and landscape construction projects.
• Performs manual and machinery work in preparing surfaces for planting (Landscape Construction)
• Maintains a clean job site picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Inventories and maintains crew's tools
• Performs materials handling and storage.
• Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower
• Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches
• Plant and maintain flower beds, trees, and ornamentals
• Properly and safely operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences and other hardscapes.
• Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.
• Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe
• Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers
• Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age or older. • Must have at least 6 months of experience • Valid Driver's License Require with clear motor vehicle report • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
