Structural Fitter Welder
Zip: 77064Schedule: Monday - Friday - 6 AM - 4:30 PM & Saturday 6 AM - Done (8 hours)Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of welding and fitting work
- Measure and mark materials for welding and fitting
- Set up and operate welding equipment to weld and fit metal components
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality
- Clean and maintain welding equipment
Required Skills:
- Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Flux and Stick welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Familiarity with welding safety procedures and practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Welding certification is a plus.
Job Description
- Work from instructions and prints to arrange parts into welding fixtures, clamp pieces into position and tack weld and/or apply finished weld. Select proper equipment, set voltage and wire feed settings to obtain proper strength and appearance.
- Handle assorted raw materials, steel parts, and steel scrap.
- Maintain work area and production equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Visually inspect, sort, & receive bar stock, pipe, rod material and welding supplies.
- Operate small electric/air hand tools.
- Operate some or all of the following production equipment: welding robot, press brake, spot welder, turret, rivet gun, stud gun, grinder and sander.
- Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
- Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.
Work Experience
- Experience in reading blueprints & schematics (including weld symbols)
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production-type environment
- This is NOT a role for Pipe WELDERS - Only STRUCTURAL WELDERS SHOULD APPLY
