Chef Fermin Nunez and the kitchen team are creating a menu inspired by traditional Mexican cooking techniques, featuring local Texas ingredients and house-made masa/tortillas. Our bar program is agave and succulent spirit-focused, with an eclectic, well-curated wine and beer list. Suerte is located at 1800 E. 6th St. in the heart of East Austin and has been a beloved part of our community since opening in March 2018. Our service is rooted in genuine hospitality for each other and our guests, and we are looking for team-oriented people with a positive attitude and a passion for food. We are seeking qualified applicants with:

• A minimum of one year of server experience, with a proven, stable work history in high-quality and reputable establishments.
  

• Familiarity with OpenTable, or an equivalent hosting software, and Toast.
  

• Dedication to learning about the story behind our menus, including cooking techniques, ingredients, allergens, and inspirations.
  

• Basic wine service and knowledge
  

• The ability to learn and explain the beverage offerings: extensive agave spirits list, house cocktails, curated wine and beer programs.
  

• The ability to accurately take orders and communicate special requests quickly and effectively, as well as curate a special experience
  

• The willingness to take on other duties as assigned
  

• A desire to work within a team-based environment and be proactive in identifying opportunities to support the restaurant and its team members.
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Comfortable lifting and carrying trays, dishes, supplies, goods, and moving tables and chairs (up to 50 lbs)
  

• Enjoy being active standing, walking, and moving around during your shift
  

• Willing to bend, reach, and restock to help keep things running smoothly
  

• Take pride in a clean, professional appearance with proper uniform and grooming
  

• Must be eligible to work in the United States

Interview Process:

• Interview with two managers
  

• Stage in the position for a few hours this is to determine for both parties if we re mutually a good fit. Your stage is non-compensable, but we will provide a snack at the end of your shift, as well as an explanation of what to expect from us in the coming days
