Apparel Production Designer

About Us:
Highpoint Signs & Apparel is a growing company in a fast environment that provides promotional products and services to local, regional, and national clients. This position is responsible for setting up production files that will be sent to our team in the shop to screen print/embroider onto varying garments. An Apparel Production Designer has many responsibilities and is considered the backbone of the operation. Some of the expectations of this position are to hit deadlines, work in a team environment, communicate clearly with other departments, learn and develop new skills to keep up with industry standards, and be attentive to customer needs. As this department is the only one that works with every other department in the company, it is incredibly important that this position is occupied with someone who is driven and motivated to streamline processes and provide results by building up others around them.
Responsibilities:
- Planning concepts by studying relevant information and material.
- Adopt company values and help establish a healthy culture
- Design and set up files for production
- Troubleshoot and fix design issues as they develop
- Help maintain and follow file saving procedure
- Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type, and style and submitting them for approval
- Preparing finished art by operating necessary equipment and software
- Coordinating with outside agencies, art services, web designers, printers, and colleagues as necessary
- Communicating with customers about layout and design
- Review final layout and suggesting improvements when necessary.
- Ensure licensing approval, if required
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or minimum of (3) years experience in graphic design or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- Familiar with print production techniques
- Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Must be proficient in:
- Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Etc.)
- Color Theory
Preferred Experience with:
- Flexi
- CorelDraw
- Adobe Certification
- Onix
- Pantone & CMYK Color Systems
- Working knowledge in apparel and signage

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
