DEPARTMENT: Surface Mount Technology (SMT)

REPORTING TO: Manufacturing Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The Quality Inspection Specialist performs inspection at incoming receipt of material, specified

in-process steps, after product has been completed, and ready for ship to a pre-specified industry

standard and documented special instructions. They perform visual, AOI and X-Ray inspection,

as well as preparing and debugging programs for the AOI and X-Ray machines. They identify

and report any quality issues that found on the unit for rework by qualified rework personnel.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

• Review product specific and customer specific documented.
• Inspect product to IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-600 or other specified industry standards.
• Identify and report (log) any defects found during inspection process.
• Communicate recurring problems to the Process Engineering, Assembly Engineering, Quality Specialist and/or Quality Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Programming Automated Optical Inspection machine.
• Programming Automated X-Ray Inspection machine.
• Perform Automated Optical Inspection.
• Perform X-Ray Inspection.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High-school diploma and/or higher education.
• 3 years of experience as a quality inspector of electronic circuits.
• Must pass and maintain CIS certification for IPC-A-610 standard.
• Must pass and maintain CIS J-STD-001 standard.
• Able to read, write, and interpret the English language.
• Good corrected visual acuity to perform visual inspection of small outline component leads.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Comfortable working with computers and software.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFFERED:

• Basic understanding of IPC-A-600 standard
• X-Ray Inspection (Programming and Operation)
• Automated Optical Inspection (Programming and Operation)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidate must be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Candidate must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
