Manufacturing Assembly

: Under direct supervision. Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization. Works from simple to moderately complex drawings, diagrams, schematics, and instructions preparing a variety of mechanical components and sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled operations required to manufacture small, intricate and delicate components. Key Responsibilities

• Manually solders surface mount and fine pitch components, braze, fuse, and spot weld small intricate components using a variety of fluxes, solder pastes, and braze metals.
• Perform various manual micro welding operations such as spot welding, fusing and brazing on miniature components and subassemblies. This task may be performed under microscopic conditions and using semi-automated winding and dipping equipment.
• Cut, bend, straighten various types of stainless steel and copper tubing.
• Measure, cut strip lead wires and cables, using small manual hand tools or automatic lead cutting machine using various measurement instruments, such as scales, tape measures, calipers and special production related gauges.
• Assemble and test components using small hand tools and electronic test instruments, such as a digital multimeter megger, dielectric tester possibly under a microscope.
• Prepare and apply a variety of fluxes, epoxies, cements and lubricants to components or sub-assemblies, some of which require special handling requirements.
• Perform a variety of production pass-fail testing which may include preparation of ice baths for calibration testing.
• Perform simple typing, etching or stamping functions to label products.
• Follows safety practices and housekeeping.
• Maintains quality of product, process and documentation by following established regulations, procedures, instructions and standards
• Other duties as required.

Educational Requirements

• High School diploma or GED

Desired Background and Skill Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience or training/specialization in position in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and follow simple drawings, wiring diagram, and written procedures.
• Ability to make simple computations using basic math skills and keep simple records.
• Able to sit or bend for extended periods to time; Occasionally requires standing and walking for extended periods up to 1 hour and sitting for up to 2 hours.
• Good vision (correction acceptable)
• Must have ability to obtain The Company qualification/certification(s) as required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
