Warehouse Trainer

- strong communication skills What is the work? Training:
- Trains newly hired Order Selectors in the assigned Warehouse facility, using approved training curriculum
- Trains upgraded Lift Operators, and Loaders
- Ensures new Order Selectors, upgraded Lift Operators, and Loaders perform duties as expected, following standard operating procedures related to safety, quality, reliability, accuracy, productivity, and teamwork
- Teaches / role models safe selection techniques; coaches Partners to ensure understanding of / adherence to safety standards
- Demonstrates appropriate order selection methods; ensures new Order Selectors are trained to select orders for shipment in an organized, clean, accurate, and damage-free manner
- Ensures Trainee documentation and / or tools are provided in a timely manner in order to provide coaching and feedback
- Identifies strengths and opportunities of Partners; coaches them to be successful in their roles
- Using Order Selector Training Program (OSTP) procedures and curriculum, provides retraining to Partners in a variety of Order Selection areas of responsibility including (but not limited to) stacking, cross-tie, MHE operation, and safe selection Techniques
- Provides facility-specific training related to commodity type and selection techniques, MHE operation, and other areas as requested
- Performs work tasks in a safe manner in accordance with work instructions
- Takes a proactive approach to assist fellow Partners through their own actions, such as sharing of technical information, facility-specific knowledge, processes, and procedures
- Maintains accountability for own work schedule, training team work schedule, and work hours
- Identifies opportunities for efficiency in day-to-day work flow; makes recommendations to leadership team
- Participates in facility-specific initiatives as requested; serves on facility committees
- Supports facility initiatives through special project assignments and work as directed
- Participates in the hiring process as requested by facility leadership
- Proactively assumes ownership of career development and advancement of competency level
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current classification as a Distribution Partner II
- 1 year of experience as an Order Selector
- Performance rating of 'Meets' or 'Exceeds Expectations' (mandatory)
- Strong communication skills
- Organization skills
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, other in-house systems such as EXE) a plus
- Bilingual language skills are a plus
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Ability to operate machines or equipment in a safe and independent manner
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Attention to detail
- Repetitively lift 5 lbs to 80 lbs for the duration of shift, 10 to 12 hours
- Stand, walk, squat for extended periods
- Work in either a hot or cold environment for the duration of a work shift
- Maintain a flexible schedule to include working days / nights, holidays, and / or rotational schedules, based on business needs or facility operation hours may include training in a non-home facility
