Au Pair

Hi future Au pair and new addition to our family, Our family consists of my husband Amir, myself Diana and our son Charbel. We are an orthodox Christian family based in Houston TX, looking for an Au pair to be part of our family, someone we can trust, depend on and share a new experience with. We would like to have a warm, friendly relationship with our au pair. We would like her to feel comfortable and welcomed at our home. We would respect her privacy and expect her to do the same. We need flexibility and understanding while working together. We would love to have an open channel with the Au pair where she shares and discusses her needs and concerns. We believe continuous communication and honesty are the best way to resolve conflicts. We are originally from Egypt, we can describe ourselves as a conservative still a fun family. Our son Charbel is 3.5 years old, very active, adventurous, loves outdoors with great sense of humor. We love to travel and meet new people from different backgrounds. We are open to learning about new cultures and traditions and we respect differences. We are willing to share with our Au pair her and our traditions. We would encourage the au pair to tell us what seems strange to her. Encourage her to ask questions about how we do things. We will share and accommodate her whenever we can in her celebrations. We would explain customs and habits to our au pair that may seem routine to us but might be different for her. We don't assume that she will know how we do things or understand what we do. Au pair can join us for mealtimes, we can talk about expectations and agree on everything. We would like to introduce our au pair to our food and we are also open to try food she likes from her home country. Our son is a picky eater so having someone who would encourage him to try new things is a big plus. Would love to know what she would like to do in her free time and will work with her to accommodate her. I would love for my son to learn new languages. We will definitely help our Au pair to improve her English in whatever means she is comfortable with. We would encourage our au pair to teach my son the children songs, age-appropriate games, and phrases from her country. We would love an au pair who can help us with Charbel especially that my husband and I work full time jobs. Our au pair would drop him off to school in the mornings and pick him up in the afternoon. Responsibilities will include primarily caring and nourishing Charbel besides helping with some house chores like laundry, loading/ unloading dishwasher and tidying around. Even with our busy schedules, we work on keeping the house clean and organized so want to make sure our Au pair is with us on the same page. We would prefer if our au pair has good driving skills as well as experience with active curious kids. We will try our best to make her feel at home, be there to support her, still respect giving her space and time to adapt. We would like to include her as part of the family's activities but accept when she wants to do something on her own.
