Credit Portfolio Group Manager
This position resides in the Citi Risk Management team responsible for the Specialty Partners Group (SPG) portfolio . The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team focused on acquisition credit policy actions that include credit approval strategies and credit line assignments that will deliver performance aligned with Citi's Risk Appetite Framework. The individual will work closely with the Partner Management, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams on an expansive set of portfolio objectives to deliver on growth targets for the portfolio. The position will have direct reports, which will require excellent people development skills as well as effective negotiation, coaching / mentoring, and communication skills.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Developing, testing, and optimizing credit policies including full accountability for implementation of those policies & processes
Manage risk levels for the entire credit spectrum across multiple products and retail formats consistent with program financial objectives
Apply an excellent working knowledge of consumer risk analytics which include scoring and segmentation techniques and their use
Tracking and reporting of all initiatives and reporting performance results, emerging trends and opportunities to senior management
Establish solid cross-functional partnerships and networks to enable execution of cross-functional and business initiatives
Lead and develop a team of risk analysts
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a large, sophisticated credit granting or risk management organization within a major consumer card, financial services, retailing or consulting business. The experience will have been gained in high volume, medium-to high risk environments, where risk assessment, technological sophistication, and data mining techniques are critical to their success. This individual will bring a strong analytical orientation, an appreciation for broad-based risk issues and a familiarity with operations. This person will have a demonstrated record of performance including responsibility for balanced portfolio growth and profitability in a sophisticated, fast-paced consumer credit environment. This experience is complemented by excellent overall business judgment. The candidate understands the short-and long-term profit dynamics for risk in various products and portfolios, as well as the complete consumer finance cycle and regulatory environment.
BA/BS degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Finance, or Mathematics (Master's degree preferred)
7+ years experience in credit card risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry
Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
Strong communications/presentation skills, capable of interacting effectively with multiple levels
Ability to obtain support and buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders; create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, decision makers and stakeholders
Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
Must be able to effectively communicate performance results, performance updates and key initiatives to senior management
