Matrix Providers is looking for an experienced Gastroenterologist to join our team providing high-quality healthcare to Military Service Members and their families at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

Your Schedule
The government may schedule providers for 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts. When necessary for patient care, providers may occasionally be required to work a 16-hour shift.
The schedule includes approximately 1�2 weekends per month and requires participation in on-call coverage.
During on-call periods, you are NOT required to remain at your residence. You must remain available by a government-provided or personal phone/pager and may be asked to report in when patient care needs require it.
What You�ll Do
As a Gastroenterologist, you�ll provide comprehensive specialty care while working within your clinical privileges and supporting the overall health and well-being of our military population.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and procedures.
- Provide preventive care, patient education, counseling, and health-maintenance services.
- Coordinate specialty referrals, consultations, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Provide guidance, teaching, and clinical instruction to other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality assurance, professional review, training, and other activities that support excellent patient care.
- Practice in accordance with applicable clinical standards, Joint Commission requirements, Department of Defense/DHA policies, and facility guidelines.

What You Bring
We�re looking for a skilled and experienced Gastroenterologist who is committed to delivering excellent patient care and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Graduate of a qualifying medical school in the United States, Canada, or an appropriately accredited international medical school with ECFMG certification
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- DoD-recognized certification must be through a board that is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
- American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification is required as applicable
- Completion of an accredited residency/fellowship approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
- At least 3 years of post-residency clinical experience in gastroenterology within the last 4 years
- Recent, hands-on experience evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Texas medical license
- U.S. citizenship required
Your recent clinical experience should demonstrate proficiency in gastroenterology evaluation and treatment, GI diagnostic procedures, treatment planning, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.
