Echocardiogram Technologist

Welcome to Central Texas Heart Center! We are an established and thriving cardiology practice that has been taking care of hearts in the Brazos Valley for over 35 years.

Our office is a fast-paced, multi-provider practice seeking an Echo Technologist to join our team of talented technicians. RVT or RVS credentials, in addition to RDMS credentials, are a plus along with experience working on eCW and Vidistar.

The main duties of this position include providing high quality cardiac ultrasound studies in an efficient and timely manner while providing compassionate care to the patients. Candidate must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and vascular system. This position description is a summary of the duties and CTHC can modify these duties at any time. This position supports all aspects of CTHC and will perform any other duties assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Uses patient identification techniques to identify patient, enters demographics into testing equipment and ensures patient safety and privacy.
  • Able to explain test procedures and answer patient questions regarding ultrasound exams.
  • Independently performs Echocardiograms, Carotid doppler, and if credentialed in RVT or RVS perform Lower/Upper extremity venous studies according to policy and procedure (if applicable).
  • Able to identify critical test results and notifies cardiologist.
  • Quickly adapts to our practice’s protocols for data sharing and storage of patient information.
  • Understands and troubleshoots basic issues with software and equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each patient use and as needed.
  • Maintains a professional and clean workspace. Maintains supplies pertinent to your work area.


KNOWLEDGE AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills with patients and co-workers. Desire to work with a team of sonographers.
  • Is efficient, manages appointments and time wisely.
  • Has excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Registered with ARDMS or CCI in Echocardiography (Vascular a plus) with clinical experience.
  • Must have current CPR/BLS certification.

This position is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. There is no call or weekend hours.
