What is the Opportunity?
Aecon Utilities is a North American leader in utility infrastructure construction, with a growing presence across Texas. We build critical infrastructure that powers communities, connects people, and moves energy. Our teams deliver utility, telecom, and energy projects.
Aecon Utilities is growing its Texas operations and is actively building a pipeline of strong support staff for upcoming utility infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking Project Engineers to support project execution through document control, tracking, and communication support.
This is an evergreen posting, candidates will be contacted as roles become available.
What You'll Do Here:
- Report directly to the Project Manager and provide administrative support across documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
- Maintain project folders, templates, and logs from initiation through closeout.
- Coordinate and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and permits.
- Manage change order documentation and ensure alignment with scope and budget.
- Use Procore, Bluebeam, and other tools for document control and drawing management.
- Track employee work hours and support project-specific reporting needs.
- Support the assembly of Operations & Maintenance manuals and QA documentation.
- Prepare and distribute internal and external project communications.
- Record and follow up on project meeting action items.
- Assist with coordination between field and office staff.
- Comply with all company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Degree or diploma in engineering, construction management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a Project Engineer role, preferably in utility or electrical infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience using Procore, Bluebeam, SAP, or Primavera P6 as a strong asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Willingness to support both site and office-based project needs.
