Oria is a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant opening soon in Austin, TX, focused on live-fire cooking, bold flavors, and warm hospitality. Our menu highlights wood-fired and charcoal-driven techniques using high-quality ingredients. We re building a strong opening kitchen team and looking for a skilled Sous Chef to help lead from day one.
The Role
The Lead Line Cook will work closely with the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to execute daily kitchen operations with an emphasis on wood-fired and/or charcoal cooking. This is a hands-on leadership role for a driven cook who thrives in fast-paced, opening-restaurant environments.
Responsibilities
- Execute wood-fired and/or charcoal cooking during service
- Support daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Lead, train, and mentor BOH team members
- Maintain quality, consistency, and cleanliness standards
- Assist with prep, line setup, and station oversight
- Ensure proper fire management, safety, and equipment care
- Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of senior line cook experience
- Strong experience with wood-fired grills, ovens, or charcoal
- Mediterranean cuisine experience preferred
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Food handler/food safety certification required
