Location: Houston, TX
Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Openwork is assisting in filling an ARPA Financial Analyst role with Harris County. This position supports high-impact public health initiatives by managing the financial lifecycle of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funded projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for multiple projects.
- Monitor expenditures and perform budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Prepare financial reports, executive summaries, and budget narratives.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and reporting deadlines.
- Support budget amendments and ad hoc financial reporting requests.
- Oversee purchasing activities, including vendor payments and requisitions.
- Collaborate with program leaders, auditors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Identify process improvements and provide data-driven insights.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or grant management.
- Experience in government, nonprofit, or commercial financial operations required.
- Experience with financial systems such as PeopleSoft or Oracle preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Primarily sedentary role with occasional light lifting (up to 10 lbs).
