Infusion RN Job Details – Tyler, TX

• Location: Tyler, TX 75708 – East Texas healthcare jobs in a close-knit, scenic community
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$1930
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel RN Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (5x8-hour day shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Patient Population: Adult oncology and hematology patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:8
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Orientation: 8 hours onsite

Infusion RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent infusion or chemotherapy RN experience
• Prior travel RN or locum tenens nursing experience (required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Expertise in port access, central line care, chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration, and patient/family education
• Must not reside in these Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris

Infusion Nurse Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy to adult oncology patients in an outpatient setting
• Monitor for side effects and complications such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Perform port and central line care, blood draws, and IV starts
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication side effects, and symptom management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including pharmacy and social services
• Document all care in Epic EMR and promptly communicate abnormal lab values or changes in patient status
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of cytotoxic agents; manage cytotoxic spills as needed
