FOH Restaurant Manager

We are looking for a FOH Manager to fill a position at one of our restaurant locations. This is a FT position up to 50K/year. We have 4 different concepts and 6 locations in the Austin area: District Kitchen + Cocktails North and South locations, Keepers Coastal Kitchen, Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar North and South and Shortie's Pizza and Grinders. This position is full time $22/hour. The FOH Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, including the selection, development and performance management of employees. In addition, they oversee the inventory and ordering of food and supplies, optimize profits and ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
o Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
o Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and accordance with company policies and procedures.
o Responsible for reading and responding to all communications and take action in a timely manner.
o Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
o Responsible for ensuring high quality of food preparation and service.
o Maintain Professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
o Estimate food and beverage costs. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
o Estimate food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies.
o Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
o Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets.
o Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured.
o Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
o Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
o Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
o Build and maintain a successful team by recruiting, hiring, training and developing the team.
o Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.
o Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs. Prepare schedules and ensure the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
o High school diploma or GED
o Minimum of 1-3 years in restaurant management
o Knowledge of computers
o Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning preparation, purchasing, sanitation, company policies and procedures, personnel management, record keeping, and preparation of reports.
o Self -discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing.
o Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
o Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet the appropriate standards.
o Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and problem solve appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
o Must be able to communicate effectively to guests, team and supervisor.
o Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.
o Ability to determine applicability of experience and qualifications of job applicants.
o Availability to meet the needs of the business to include, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
