Veterinary Student Externship – Pet Medical Center of Katy

Are you ready to turn your classroom knowledge into real-world skills? At , our externship program offers an immersive, hands-on experience in a supportive, high-quality veterinary practice. As part of the National Veterinary Associates (NVA) family, we are committed to cultivating the next generation of veterinary professionals through exceptional mentorship and meaningful clinical exposure.
What to Expect:
Externs at Pet Medical Center of Katy will be integrated into our day-to-day operations and actively involved in patient care. You’ll work closely with experienced veterinarians and our compassionate support team to build confidence in key clinical skills while learning how a thriving practice runs behind the scenes.
Externship Opportunities Include:
Conducting physical exams and collecting patient histories
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans
Participating in dentistry and soft tissue surgeries (based on experience)
Gaining hands-on experience in clinical procedures and case management
Enhancing client communication and team collaboration skills
Program Details:
Location: Pet Medical Center of Katy
Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks, depending on availability
Eligibility: Open to 3rd, and 4th year veterinary students
Travel/Living Stipend: Available for students in the clinical portion of their education
