Settlement- Legal Assistant
- Confirm all liens are requested, received, and resolved.
- Prepare, review, and finalize settlement agreements, releases, and dismissals.
- Audit electronic files to ensure all documents (pleadings, medical records) are saved correctly before disbursement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance companies, and providers regarding settlement status.
- Accurately enter data, track settlement deadlines, and manage attorney calendars.
- Collaborate with paralegals/attorneys to prepare files for final payout.
- Must be bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish
- At least 1-year in a legal setting, ideally focusing on personal injury defense.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and experience with case management software (e.g., Clio)
- Exceptional attention to detail to manage high-volume cases and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication for negotiating with lienholders and communicating with clients.
- Must have entry level accounting experience
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must have a positive attitude and great customer service skills
- Must pay attention to details, work must be accurate
- Must be organized and able to manage heavy case load
- Must be able to prioritize tasks/deadlines
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must have excellent communication skills
