Crane Operator - Foundation West

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused professional to support foundation and construction operations through the precise operation of crane equipment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in lifting, moving, and positioning materials in coordination with project crews to help ensure efficient, accurate, and safe jobsite execution. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate cranes (e.g., mechanical boom and cable, friction cranes or hydraulic and cable equipment) to lift, move, and place materials, equipment, and structural components as directed.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required safety and maintenance checks.
- Work closely with signal persons, riggers, and site personnel to coordinate safe lifts and load placement.
- Follow lift plans, site procedures, and all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor load weights, weather conditions, ground stability, and other site factors that may affect safe operations.
- Assist with rigging activities as needed, ensuring loads are properly secured before movement.
- Maintain clear communication with team members throughout lifting operations.
- Report equipment issues, hazards, and incidents promptly to supervision.
- Support foundation-related construction activities while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating cranes in construction, foundation, or related heavy equipment environments.
- Knowledge of crane safety practices, rigging fundamentals, and load handling procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret site instructions, lift plans, and hand signals.
- Strong focus on safety, situational awareness, and operational accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in varying outdoor conditions.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role in a demanding jobsite environment.
- Valid certification or license to operate crane equipment, as required by local regulations and employer standards.
- Reliable attendance, good communication skills, and a professional work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting foundation, utility, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Familiarity with different crane types and lifting attachments.
- Additional safety certifications such as rigging or signal person training.
