Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our plaintiff personal injury practice. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload from pre-litigation through trial, advocating for injured clients, pursuing maximum recovery, and representing the firm in depositions and court. This role requires strong litigation skills, excellent client communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters from pre-litigation through trial, including triage, investigation, and case strategy.
- Conduct factual and legal investigations, coordinate with medical providers and expert witnesses, and prepare demand packages and pre-litigation negotiations.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents in a timely manner.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses and experts; prepare witnesses and work closely with trial teams.
- Develop case strategy and litigation plans, including discovery strategy, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and at trial when necessary, demonstrating strong trial advocacy skills.
- Communicate regularly and clearly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and expectations while maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff to manage deadlines, billing, and case file organization.
- Maintain accurate case records in case management systems and assist with trial exhibits, witness preparation, and trial logistics.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
- 2+ years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience preferred; candidates with strong litigation and trial exposure will be prioritized.
- Proven experience with trial preparation and courtroom advocacy; demonstrable trial experience is a plus.
- Comfortable handling all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, depositions, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy, legal research, and drafting skills.
- Strong client-facing skills with an ability to counsel and manage client expectations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume practice, managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with case management software, electronic discovery tools, and common office technology.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel for depositions, court appearances, and client meetings as required.
