Product Manager, Power Tools & Accessories
Leading innovation from strategy to launch
Responsible for product development, launch, product support, pricing, initiatives, and growth of Hilti’s PLS products. Product Manager is a key partner to our PLS marketing teams in HAG as well as our trade managers in HNA marketing.
What You'll do
- Strategy – Define and communicate the strategy for product leadership (PLS) for the assigned Business Unit in Hilti North America (HNA)
- Global integration – Align Hilti global PLS initiatives with HNA market needs; contribute best practice solutions to Hilti’s global PLS effort
- Process leadership – Lead the implementation of the Hilti process Product Portfolio Management (PPM) with a focus on the HNA Time to Money (TTM) new product development activity
- Trade Strategy – Support the efforts of the Hilti North America trade team to develop content and support account managers on product and application knowledge
- Key deliverables – Responsible for assigned product lines revenue, gross margin, and operating expenses (OPEX)
- Manage the matrix of HNA team members – Product Manager position is responsible to collaborate with materials management, direct marketing, market reach, training, marketing communications, trade, Hilti online, customer service, engineering, and the marketing organizations to properly support their product and control information flow
- Market Research – Product Manager is responsible to monitor the activity, innovation, market reach strategy, and pricing of the competition in the North American market; additionally, PM will work closely with trade manager to communicate product improvement and portfolio enhancements to the HAG product development teams in the business units
- Training – Product Manager will service at the North American content expert with regards to the product they support and will collaborate with training and marketing communications to build training content and product launch materials
- Additional duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years combined sales or marketing experience in the construction industry
- Proven success in motivating teams and exerting influence across multiple departments and geographies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of construction industry products, product applications, and customer preferred
- Strong MS Office skills required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze sales and market data, draw conclusions, and present findings
- Ability to learn quickly and operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment
- Proven effectiveness in developing and executing comprehensive business and launch plans
- Presentation skills
- Business strategy development experience preferred
- Normal office conditions with job site visits
- Occasional domestic travel required
- Job requires walking on construction sites and uneven surfaces, as well as climbing scaffolding, ladders, and stairs during all seasons of the year
- Depending on geography employees may be exposed to adverse heat or cold
- Construction jobsites may also expose specialists to excessively loud noises; ear protection is strongly encouraged and may be required on some jobsites
- Hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, and long pants required for working jobsites; must observe and abide by any and all safety regulations as required by Hilti, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and General Contractors
- Must be able to walk on construction projects, climb scaffolding, and lift and carry up to 65 pounds of Hilti product
