This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Assistant Controller who enjoys project-based accounting and wants to broaden their leadership responsibilities within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Position Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day operational accounting, support the month-end close process, and partner closely with operations on project accounting and job costing. This role offers significant visibility across the organization and a clear path for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational accounting, including general ledger, reconciliations, cash management, and month-end close.

• Oversee job costing and project accounting activities, including work-in-progress (WIP) and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting.

• Review contracts and ensure accurate revenue recognition and project cost reporting.

• Support annual audits and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with field operations to ensure accurate project financial reporting and timely invoice processing.

• Assist with quarterly financial reporting packages and management reporting.

• Partner with Accounts Payable and project accounting staff while providing coaching and support.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

• Participate in special projects and take on additional leadership responsibilities as the organization continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

• Active CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred.

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience.

• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting in construction, industrial services, engineering, energy, or a similar environment.

• Working knowledge of WIP, percentage-of-completion accounting, and contract accounting.

• Strong understanding of month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Experience with ERP systems such as Spectrum, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar platforms.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with both accounting and operations teams.
