Job Description
Addison Group is partnering with our client to identify a Benefits Specialist who will support the day-to-day administration of employee benefits and leave programs. This individual will play a key role in maintaining benefit records, coordinating with third-party vendors, assisting employees with benefits-related questions, and supporting compliance and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prior experience working with employee benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee participation in benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, spending accounts, and supplemental offerings.
- Process benefit elections, updates, and terminations within the HRIS and related systems.
- Verify employee eligibility for benefit plans based on established guidelines and plan provisions.
- Maintain accurate benefits data and conduct routine audits to ensure information integrity.
- Research and resolve benefit discrepancies, enrollment issues, and employee concerns.
- Facilitate leave management processes in partnership with third-party leave administrators.
- Track employee leave activity, eligibility requirements, and return-to-work timelines.
- Collaborate with HR and external partners to address leave-related questions and escalations.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefit plans, enrollment processes, claims concerns, and leave programs.
- Review data for trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide reporting support for audits, compliance reviews, and leadership requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or a related area.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems.
- Knowledge of employee benefit programs, leave administration, and applicable regulations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
