Staff Accountant POST NUMBER: 471234
Dallas, TX Compensation: $70-80k Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join one of our large, multi location clients. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations across different locations and work closely with the senior accountants and accounting director. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
- Assist with variance analysis and expense tracking against budgets
- Prepare supporting schedules for leadership review
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
- Support implementation or optimization of accounting systems and tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP fundamentals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar)
