Position Summary

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Senior Manager to join our Confidential Client's tax practice in Houston, TX. This role offers the opportunity to lead tax planning and compliance initiatives for mid-market and enterprise clients while mentoring junior team members. The successful candidate will manage complex corporate tax matters, develop client relationships, and contribute to the strategic growth of the tax practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee corporate tax compliance and planning engagements for clients of varying complexity
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, including federal, state, and multi-jurisdictional filings
• Provide tax planning advice and strategic recommendations to clients on business restructuring, M&A transactions, and tax optimization
• Lead and supervise junior tax staff and coordinate with other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for service expansion
• Stay current with tax law changes and communicate implications to clients and internal teams
• Contribute to business development initiatives and pursue new client opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA license (active and in good standing)
• 5+ years of experience in corporate tax, either in public accounting or corporate tax departments
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax law and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and client relationships simultaneously
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with accounting software and tax preparation tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Big Four or national accounting firm experience
• Experience with M&A tax due diligence and transaction support
• Knowledge of industry-specific tax matters (healthcare, manufacturing, technology, etc.)
• Experience mentoring and developing junior accounting professionals
