Eligibility Specialist Bilingual - Alief (Job Overview)

Schedule: 8AM-5PM

  • Use cutting-edge technology to assess eligibility, ensuring everyone gets the care they deserve.
  • Enhance the patient experience by applying precision in insurance billing and advanced coding.
  • Be an advocate for community health by addressing and resolving patient inquiries with empathy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use agile methodologies to determine client eligibility, ensuring compliance with all protocols.
  • Verify clients' payer sources innovatively, including Medicaid, Medicare, or third-party insurance.
  • Efficiently register clients into the CPCDMS using the latest technology.
  • Ensure all paperwork is meticulously completed and digitally entered.
  • Keep eligibility files updated, using a data-driven approach.
  • Champion the renewal eligibility process, ensuring smooth client support.
  • Schedule and confirm eligibility appointments, orchestrating initial service scheduling.
  • Provide clients with comprehensive lists of required eligibility documentation.
  • Participate actively in our Performance Improvement Program.
  • Foster a culture of respect and dignity for all patients and employees.
  • Collaborate effectively within dynamic team environments.
  • Engage in safety training and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain workspace and technology standards in line with Legacy's expectations.
  • Implement strategic exposure control plans for health safety.
  • Master protective barrier equipment and techniques.
  • Commit to annual educational advancements.
  • Embrace travel for training and coverage, fostering a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to additional impactful duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with a strong foundation in medical knowledge.
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical billing is preferred.
  • Training or background in ICD-A / CPT codes for enhanced billing precision.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping and accounting terminology, with a tech-savvy approach.
  • Experience with digital systems and office technology.
  • Ability to take initiative and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual capabilities are preferred to support our diverse community.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices.
