The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is undergoing major changes to accommodate for regional and global decarbonization and energy transition targets. Underground and subsea cable technology are, in particular, increasingly becoming a major player in this energy paradigm shift to enable large-scale renewable energy generation, such as offshore wind, green hydrogen or large interconnectors.

Knowledge of the offshore wind/HVDC will also be seen favorably.

Duties could include but are note limited to:

  • Perform power system studies (internal to the plant) including, but not limited to, load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash and harmonics.
  • Perform power system studies (external to the plant) related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements as well as NERC standards.
  • Support system studies project(s) throughout the whole lifecycle (i.e. from the technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings/presentations, to close-out).
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects, delivering on time and to budget.
  • Work closely with the team members across North America and globally.
  • Work with different types of customers including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.
  • Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.
