Part Time - Floor Attendant - Fitness Center
Position Details:
Kilgore College KC Excel at Parks Fitness Center is open to students and the community.
The Floor Attendant at KC Excel will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members and guests while maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment. This position will serve as the fitness center point of contact for inquiries and assist with a variety of tasks to ensure smooth operations of the fitness center.
Responsibilities:
- Operations: Greet all members and visitors with a positive attitude and assist with check-ins (as needed), membership inquiries, and general questions.
- Membership Processing: Handle membership sign-ups, renewals, and cancellations, ensuring accurate data entry and payment processing.
- Locker Room Oversight: Communicate locker room closures or updates to members in advance, ensuring they are well-informed.
- Facility Support: Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and common areas of the facility.
- Team Assistance: Collaborate with fitness trainers, maintenance staff, and other departments to address any member concerns or facility issues.
- Conflict Resolution: Address member concerns or complaints promptly, escalating issues to the supervisor as necessary.
- Event Support: Assist in organizing and promoting special events or fitness programs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a fitness or customer service environment preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Hours:
- Flexible shifts; may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on facility needs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Safety:
- Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.
- The rate of pay $11 per hour for up to 19 hours per week.

Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program.
All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
