Senior Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Staff Accountant with strong financial aptitude. While extensive experience is not required, the ideal candidate must be a quick learner with excellent analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, and the ability to grasp complex intercompany concepts. Experience with intercompany or cost accounting is preferred but not required if the candidate demonstrates strong core accounting ability.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Month-End Close
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger across multiple entities.
• Analyze account activity and prepare variance explanations.
• Support the continuous improvement of close processes.

Intercompany Accounting

• Learn and support intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Assist in maintaining intercompany schedules and resolving variances.
• Help ensure accurate recording and settlement of intercompany balances.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and established accounting policies.

Operational & Cost Accounting (Preferred, Not Required)

• Learn and support cost accounting activities such as inventory valuation and variance analysis.
• Assist production, supply chain, and operations teams with basic financial insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with AP, AR, FP&A, and operations teams.
• Participate in system improvements and automation initiatives.
• Provide general accounting support to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Strong financial aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and understand complex intercompany accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in intercompany accounting.
• Experience with cost accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
• Familiarity with process improvements and workflow automation.

Salary Description

$83,000-$100,000
