Contracts Attorney

The Contracts Analyst handles routine contracts tasks related to customer and/or supplier contracts under the supervision of the Contracts Team Lead or Contracts Manager in the assigned Legal Support Center, GeoUnit, Division, or Technology Center.

Depending on the assignment:

LSC / Division / GeoUnit (Customer Contracts team):

  • Reviews, negotiates, and drafts contracts with customers for the provision of products and/or services, including without limitation exceptions to tender documents and request for quotations.
LSC / Technology Center (Supplier Contracts team):

  • Drafts, reviews, proposes revisions, and negotiates contracts with suppliers whenever necessary.
  • Promotes and ensures compliance with policies, standards, procedures, and contractual obligations, including without limitation obtaining all required legal approvals within the organization.
  • Generate contracts reports as needed and actively participates in all aspects of post-award contract management, including without limitation regularly monitoring active and expiring contracts.
  • Manages and administers contract-related records in the relevant contracts database on a timely basis.
  • Identifies and proposes improvements to existing contract management procedures.
  • Documents lessons learned for sharing within the organization.
  • Participates in presentations and workshops related to contracts risks and related company standards, processes and/or reviews.
  • Assists in performing operations assurance reviews when requested.
  • Ensures and promotes compliance with policies, standards, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Participates in presentations and workshops related to contracting standards, processes and/or reviews.
  • Participates in the Legal Department training and development initiatives and completes all assigned training.
  • Collaborates with the Legal Department in the performance of Operations Assurance Reviews when requested.
  • Along with Contract Owner and Contracts Manager, actively participates in all aspects of Post Award Contract Management reviews including follow up of action items of Remedial Work Plans.
  • Must become familiar with and use all Legal Department systems and tools and contribute to the Legal Knowledge Management System and LawHub.
  • Assists the Contracts Manager / Contracts Team Lead, Legal Support Centre as required.
  • Ensures and promotes compliance with policies, standards, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Participates in presentations and workshops related to contracting standards, processes and/or reviews.
  • Participates in the Legal Department training and development initiatives and completes all assigned training.
  • Collaborates with the Legal Department in the performance of Operations Assurance Reviews when requested.
  • Along with Contract Owner and Contracts Manager, actively participates in all aspects of Post Award Contract Management reviews including follow up of action items of Remedial Work Plans (in Quest or otherwise).
  • Must become familiar with and use all Legal Department systems and tools and contribute to the Legal Knowledge Management System and LawHub.
  • Assists the Contracts Manager / Contracts Team Lead, Legal Support Centre as required.

Required Qualifications

• 1-5+ years of experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation

• Ability to work independently on assigned contracts with minimal supervision

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with sales, operations, and customers

• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

• Track record of achieving negotiated outcomes that support business objectives

• High proficiency in English speaking and writing, including contract redlining and business correspondence
