Staff Accountant – Corporate Accounting

A well-established Houston industrial organization is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant who wants hands-on general-ledger experience, exposure to a larger corporate structure and room to develop alongside an experienced accounting team.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile intercompany, general-ledger and balance-sheet accounts
• Support a five-business-day month-end close
• Assist with monthly sales-and-use-tax filings
• Help prepare financial statements and month-end reports
• Analyze expenses, trends and budget variances
• Assist with annual budgeting and ad hoc management reporting
• Support bank and third-party debt reconciliations
• Document accounting processes and internal controls
• Cross-train as backup for selected inventory-accounting responsibilities
• Occasionally assist with physical inventory counts

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 
• Approximately one to two years of accounting experience; strong recent graduates with relevant internships may also be considered
• Knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations and general-ledger accounting
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Availability to work onsite full-time beginning January 1, 2027

Preferred:

• Corporate or industry accounting experience
• Manufacturing, distribution or inventory exposure
• Intercompany-accounting experience
• Microsoft Dynamics or D365 experience
• Vena or OneStream exposure
• Sales-and-use-tax experience

Role Details

• Houston, Post Oak area
• Initial in-office training followed by a hybrid schedule for the remainder of 2026
• Five days onsite beginning January 1, 2027
• $70k+
