Accounts Receivable Specialist
Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will support the corporate finance department, post payments received, provide customer service to internal and external customers. This position will report to the Director of Finance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Cash Posting: Payment transactions received to include eft, checks, and credit card payments.
- Perform collection calls on past due accounts
- Set up Accounts, Terms, and COD
- Research and reconcile open accounts receivable issues
- Apply strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and high attention to detail in solving problems
- Providing customer service regarding collection issues, resolving client discrepancies, and short pays
- Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress
- Assist the AR Coordinator Daily and other requests by senior management involving AR
- Communicate with customers and branch personnel regarding issues, such as providing invoices or statements, and other collection issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of corporate collections/ accounts receivable experience preferred
- High School Graduate or equivalent, some college is preferred
- Alpha/Numeric data entry and typing skills, with excellent accuracy
- Excellent customer service and phone skills.
- Strong written & oral communication skills for interaction with branch personnel.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel Skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL is preferable
- Maintains a positive and can-do attitude and approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
- High comfort level, working at a rapid pace.
- Ability to problem solve independently and under pressure
- Excellent recordkeeping and documentation skills.
- Dependability and focus are a must
- Must demonstrate professional demeanor
- Excellent Critical thinking skills
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit at a computer, read computer screen, and input information for long periods of time. Sharing office space is a possibility. Some light travel could be required. Must be able to move about office as needed. Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds.
