Front Desk Receptionist in Spring Branch

The primary responsibilities of this position will be the coordination of patient registration, patient scheduling, and assisting physicians with patient care. The applicant must have strong computer skills, with Mac experience a plus. A medical billing/coding background and general insurance knowledge would be an asset, although it is not a primary job duty. The position requires excellent customer service skills, and the candidate's professional presentation and interpersonal communication skills will be an important factor in hiring.
The individual will be a " patient first " advocate who is compassionate with others. The job is a key position in a growing women's imaging center. If selected, the individual will become part of a dynamic and caring patient care team. Our staff are true professionals and create a special family that goes beyond the typical office setting. This position is open, full-time, and available for immediate hire to a qualified candidate: great benefits, three weeks PTO, matching 401K, and health insurance.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes all patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
- Check patients in and out
- Schedule and confirms patient appointments
- Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance, and other relevant information.
- Collects copays and any balances on patient accounts
- Ensure professionalism while maintaining excellent patient service
- Accurately document all patient requests and information
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 1-3 years of experience working in a medical clinic or related customer service experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
- Must be flexible to work 8 am-5 pm (*sometimes a little later or a little earlier)
- General knowledge of EMR and health insurance copays & deductibles (preferred)
- Must have strong computer skills
- Must be able to multi-task with answering phones and dealing with patients in the office at the same time
- Must have excellent phone etiquette
