Summary of Role

A successful Technical Product Owner at Command Alkon brings clarity to complex problems and speed to execution. You act as the single source of truth for your Scrum team. You translate customer needs and technical constraints into clear, testable user stories and help the team move from concept to validated solution quickly.

You actively use AI tools to think faster, prototype ideas, validate technical feasibility, and reduce friction between business and engineering. You do not replace judgment with AI. You amplify it.

This role goes beyond standard Product Owner responsibilities by intentionally using AI tools to increase speed, clarity, and technical depth. AI is a core part of daily work. The Product Owner uses tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to draft, refine, validate, prototype, and stress-test product ideas. Stronger technical fluency is expected. This role stays closer to the code, architecture, and system behavior than a traditional PO.

Ideas move from concept to validated solution more quickly through rapid prototypes and technical experimentation. Expectations are higher for backlog readiness, solution feasibility, and delivery quality.

How You’ll Succeed

· Your team never waits on clarity.

· The team backlog stays prioritized, current, and technically sound. At least two iterations of ready stories are always available.

· Stories are small, unambiguous, and testable, with clear acceptance criteria, edge cases, and technical assumptions validated before sprint planning.

· You use AI tools to: Draft and refine user stories from rough ideas, notes, or customer feedback, Generate acceptance criteria, negative scenarios, and test cases, Validate stories for completeness, ambiguity, and technical risk before refinement

Rapid prototyping and technical validation

· You reduce uncertainty by validating ideas before full engineering investment.

· Rather than relying only on written requirements, you help translate product concepts into simple functional prototypes or technical experiments that demonstrate how a solution could work.

· You collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure that concepts are feasible within system constraints.

· You use AI tools to: Translate architectural discussions into developer-ready concepts and prototypes, Build quick proof-of-concept interfaces or flows to demonstrate user experience, Use AI development tools to explore implementation options and reduce ambiguity before sprint execution

Strong sprint execution and predictable delivery

· You maintain velocity without sacrificing quality.

· Sprint planning is efficient and focused. Refinement sessions are structured and productive. Stories accepted as done meet acceptance criteria and the team Definition of Done.

· You use AI tools to: Prepare refinement agendas and story walkthroughs, Stress-test acceptance criteria against real workflows and edge cases, Explore potential technical solutions or constraints before development begins, Summarize sprint outcomes, risks, and decisions for stakeholders

Rigorous quality and solution validation

· You protect the customer experience by ensuring that solutions work not only technically, but in real customer workflows.

· You play a key role in validating whether delivered functionality truly solves the user problem.

· You bring a structured approach to evaluating quality, performance, and correctness before accepting stories as complete.

· You use AI tools to: Simulate customer journeys and transaction flows, Identify gaps between works technically and works for users, Validate outputs against expected behavior and edge conditions, Prepare clear demo narratives tied to business outcomes

Strong cross-functional relationships

· You partner closely with Product Management on PI planning and backlog readiness. You coordinate with other Product Owners to manage dependencies and ensure alignment across teams.

· You build strong working relationships with engineering, architecture, customer representatives, and internal stakeholders.

· You use AI tools to: Tailor communication for technical and non-technical audiences, Summarize complex discussions into clear decisions and next steps, Prepare concise briefs and updates for leadership
